This web page hosts the Team Parish of Elland's permanent informative guide of events in its churches. But most of all it keeps you up to date with news within the parish.
Maybe you have left the area and want to keep in touch or send a message to someone in the parish. A good start is to Email Fr. Martin (below)
We also extend a warm welcome to Internet surfers from the parish of Bugwema in Mara, our link diocese.
Elland is within the borough of Calderdale. There are ten churches in the town. The ancient church of St. Mary was originally a daughter church of Halifax Parish Church and their web site boasts lots of information on activities associated with that church. We also have other churches with web sites for example the Calderdale Christian Web Site
Let's begin and introduce the team in Elland.

Fr Martin Wood

Fr Michael Freeman

Fr Martin Wood (left) has been at St Mary's for nine years. Fr Martin is the Team Rector for the Parish. Fr Michael Freeman (right) has been Team Vicar of All Saints for eight years and says of the church when showing visitors around "That they are amazed that such a building exists in a small West Yorkshire town".

Elland is twinned with the town of Riorges in France and numerous exchange visits have been undertaken enabling strong links to be forged between the two towns. This web page will aim to supply regular visitors to this site. If you are surfing the net from Riorges and would like to send a message please feel free to email this site.
Calderdale Council Web Site
Elland is an ancient town. It is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It boasts many attractions today. Close at hand for example Dobson's the boiled sweet makers are situated across the road from St Mary's. Other links to attractions in the town will be added, as they become known or available.
